Symbol blockchain news update – 26/01/22

It’s Wednesday and we are halfway through the working week already! I don’t have a huge amount to report on since yesterday but there have been a few interesting things pop up in my news feed so I will sit down and do some writing between interviews – looks like I am skipping lunch today 😭

Paws for thought

I saw this cryptic post from Jaguar. Not really sure what it means so I will speculate wildly instead 😁

I am guessing that this is a call to the community, the devs have led the way so far but it is our time to follow in their footsteps and start contributing to the development of Symbol and the wider ecosystem. I hope that Jaguar won’t be leaving us to fend for ourselves yet!

The other scenario is that there is a new addition to the family 😁 Probably less likely(???) but if it is the case then congratulations, your life is about to get turned upside down 😁

New Symbol wallet

I reported on this a while back and remember writing at the time that it would be great to see an English version of the blog post describing EXYM wallet. Looks like this has happened and I am excited! The features look super cool and this will be a unique wallet. You can even customise it with one of a kind NFT designs! Check out the article here and see what you think.

Arcana goes global!

Great to see that Arcana has been translated into so many languages already. Thanks to all of the community members that have been involved in this process (and thank you to @shu801115 for your hard work designing such an excellent wallet!).

COMSA

It looks like COMSA is back from hibernation and will be launching some kind of new service on 31st January (next Monday). I am working, as usual, from autotranslate so I may not understand it all correctly. From what I can gather at launch you will be able to create and sell NFTs on the platform (sounds familiar with Garush in the pipeline).

Further autotranslated details below – check it out and see what you think..

Syndicate

More stunning branding from the team, this time for the Syndicate. As always the design and thought process behind it amazes me. The new-look Symbol (and NEM) is really taking shape now.

Wallet feedback

This thread is really important. The team want your input on what should happen with the current “official” wallets. It seems that the wallets were actually outsourced and the code base is a mess. I would rather see a rewrite and redesign. I almost always use the Desktop wallet currently but wouldn’t be so worried if replaced by a browser-based alternative.

Anyway, have you say on what you think should be done here:

Also feedback on the type of wallet you currently use most often here:

Make sure to make your voice heard and reply to the polls please.

Karmadillo

And finally, a cute armadillo! This is the official mascot of Karmapoint which I have reported on before but would love to know more about. I guess stay tuned and hopefully we will here more about the project (built on Symbol) in the coming weeks and months.

Thanks!

Thanks for reading, I will be back again soon with another update 😊

Also a HUGE THANK YOU to the mystery person who sent a donation and message earlier today – it really means a lot!

If you are a regular reader then please consider delegating to my node, xymharvesting.net – would be great to see it in the top 100 nodes by importance.

I'm a Symbol and NEM enthusiast and run this blog to try to grow awareness of the platform in the English-speaking world. If you have any Symbol news you would like me to report on or you have an article that you would like to publish then please let me know!
