18 Aug Symbol blockchain news update – 18/08/21
Hi guys and welcome to Wednesday’s edition of the Symbol Blog news update! I’m not sure when I will actually get to post this as I have a lot on today but I thought I would at least make a start this morning whilst I had a few minutes free. I guess you won’t get to read it until this evening at the earliest – sorry!
Symbol movie? 😂
I saw this yesterday and it made me smile. @HANABATA_KE made a Symbol movie trailer and it’s actually pretty good. Maybe someday in the future there will actually be a Symbol movie. I think I heard somewhere that there was talk of an Ethereum movie so who knows. There has certainly been some drama and intrigue in NEM’s history – just check out the discussion in #community-managers on Discord for the full lowdown of some rouges in NEM’s past and how they were ousted!
And now there is an English version, even better! 😊
The first completed QUEST! 🤩
This was a complete surprise to me. It turns out that my quest to write an article about QUEST was the first mainnet project to run through to completion. How cool is that?! Maybe one day when it is the new Twitch or some other platform that GenZ use and I have no clue about I will have the claim to fame that I was the first ever person to complete a QUEST on the production mainnet site!
Symvolution – Symbol games!
Symvolution is live on testnet! Just paste in you testnet private key and you are good to go! There is documentation here in Japanese (just auto translate it and you will get the jist) then go play! It looks great by the way – I don’t have time at the moment but I will definitely be playing tonight or tomorrow 😊
There are already some tips on how to get started too 😊

ReQUEST and other new QUEST features!
Just wanted to bring your attention to these important quests from the QUEST developer. I think we have all been talking about how awesome it would be to be able to request a custom quest that you would like to see others complete. This is being worked on! If you want to see it happen then go boost the quest!
Also, (coming soon) more features! The first of which will be implementation of a language filter. I am all for boosting quests in any language. In fact I haven’t boosted a single quest in English, mainly as there aren’t any/many! I won’t be turning this one on 😊
