12 Aug Symbol blockchain news update – 12/08/21
Hi everyone! I managed to find enough to report on to have a Symbol Blog news update today. As I mentioned previously I will miss things so if you spot interesting Symbol related news then just send me the link to the tweet, tag me in it or email it and then I can write it up!
Very cool Symbol mobile wallet in development!
I saw this on Twitter and although I don’t know all of the details I thought I would draw your attention to it. @sLIFE93266531 is developing a very slick looking Symbol mobile wallet and it looks great! Unfortunately all of the information about it is currently in Japanese – hopefully once it is released there will be an English language option so we can all use it! From what I could gather from the default Twitter translation of the post it seems to geared towards transfer and visualisation of NFTs on the mainnet but I could be wrong here – I will bring you more detail once I know more!
Tomatina is coming!
Tomatina is coming to Symbol mainnet #soon! If you want to get involved then reply to @xembook‘s tweet! He will send you 300 xembook.tomato mosaics to use in the event! I am not sure what will happen on the day as it seems that it is up to us to decide what we will do to celebrate the event. I am sure that there are several ideas under development at the moment but you don’t want to get left out so claim your free tomatoes in plenty of time! 😊

UX design for official “project Hermes” wallet
Just a reminder you really should be checking out the discussions and team channels on Discord. Here’s a @TrendStream tweet about a UX mockup of the “project Hermes” wallet featuring mosaic marketplace and digital user IDs. There are a lot of other really interesting posts on Discord which give you an insight into everything that is in development. It truly is a transparent structure that lets you see exactly what the team is working on.

Website redesign
Another @TrendStream tweet, this time about the website redesign. Here is one of the designs for colour scheme, fonts and icons. I think that they look great but I do agree with Tresto on this one that there may be some divided opinions about it. Also I didn’t think of this before but you are right – we need more diversity in the characters represented in the designs. We have a diverse community and the majority of current users are Japanese!
Fushicho (the Phoenix)
I will leave you with this fantastic artwork from @Puchikun01 made for the Fushicho release (v0.8.0.3) of Catapult (Symbol before it was called Symbol!). Fushicho (不死鳥) is Japanese for Phoenix.
