09 Apr Symbol blockchain news update β 09/04/22
It’s the weekend(!) and it is a first for me in a loooong time, no urgent work and family are out for the morning – I don’t know what to do with myself! π Rather than agonise about how to spend this free time I thought I would write a very quick blog post, then I might even turn on the Playstation and get a couple of hours in before the TV switches back to Peppa Pig et al. for the afternoon π
Valkyrie weekly update
As always the folks at Valkyrie have provided us with an update on what they have been up to and this week and there are a couple of encouraging early signs that a couple of major exchanges (OK Coin and Crypto.com) are interested in listing Symbol and NEM. Don’t hold your breath, it may or may not happen and if they do go ahead then it may be awhile before we see it go live. There has also been a meeting with another US-based market maker interested in supporting Symbol and NEM so there seem to be some developments there also. It’s great to see that this partnership with Valkyrie is giving us additional credibility and opening some doors in terms of meeting the right people.
New venue accepting XYM payments
We have another restaurant joining the Symbol ranks! @kura_kurousagi (website) will start accepting payment in XYM from April 12th. I don’t understand a word of their webpage but the food looks amazing! π€© I think it is a BBQ place and there is a good selection of meat and seafood available. Apparently, ribs are their speciality and as usual, I am jealous of any of you that live close enough to go dine there! If you are in the area then please make sure you visit and support their business.

Give to a good cause
I still have 30 “Ukrainian Sunflower” NFTs to give away to those that retweet and share the link to Oleg’s donation website to support Ukraine. Do this and write your Symbol address in the comments of my tweet below and I will send you a sunflower which are sold out on the website. I strongly encourage you to buy your own NFT (they start at just 10 XYM) – this war is sickening and the people of Ukraine need help so do what you can and donate.
Symbol and NEM coins coming very soon
Here they are! The new 10 XYM and 10 XEM silver coins from @sakamotometal – they really are works of art, love them! Apparently they will be put on sale soon, I will be ordering one if the price isn’t crazy and will let you know when they go on sale π
New cluster gallery
I am a big fan of @RookBl‘s work and if you haven’t seen it before then I suggest that you go check out his gallery on Cluster!
For those of you that haven’t used cluster before, it is super easy to get started. You just need to download the software (available for both Windows and Mac), create an avatar, or if you are lazy/boring like me then just use the default π Then you can connect to many different virtual worlds, you can even visit XYM City or view the Symbol Node List – have fun! π
