05 Sep Symbol blockchain news update – 05/09/21 (QUEST Sunday)
It’s Sunday so it’s time for a bit of a Symbol Blog QUEST update! I was hoping to bring you a special 100th post on a mystery subject written by @Hatchet but I haven’t received the article yet. I will hold off on my mediocre update and hope that Hatchet sends it before I publish this – otherwise this will be the milestone 100th post 😂
Big (pirate) booty 🏴☠️🍑
The bounty for an official Symbol Twitter tipbot is increasing and it is up to around $3,000 already. I am sure that this will continue to grow over time so if you have the skills and want to help the community it is definitely worth getting involved!
Here’s a reminder of what we are talking about for those of you that are hearing about this for the first time! 😊
It’s great to see some community spirit here and people giving from their own pockets to fund something that will benefit the ecosystem as a whole.
ReQUEST
I have talked about this a lot and you are probably sick of hearing about it by now but ReQUEST is due to go live tomorrow (6th September)! This is probably the most hotly anticipated QUEST feature which will allow users to request tasks by providing a specification, duration and initial boost amount in XYM. Will they make it on time and complete the QUEST? Not long left to find out!
This feature will be perfect for projects such as the XYM Twitter Tipbot mentioned in the previous story. I wonder if @Hatchet will set up a ReQUEST for this task.
Purple Symbol Soba Noodles! 🍜
I love the inventiveness (and craziness 🤪) of some of the QUESTs on the site. This one is one of the more out there tasks. @BeXYMaster is attempting to make Symbol themed purple coloured buckwheat soba noodles! It sounds like he is taking a very scientific approach and researching different methodologies, conditions and additives starting with simple grape juice. You can follow his progress on Twitter!

Argh.. I forgot to add my comment when I boosted your QUEST but if you are reading this @BeXYMaster – maybe pomegranate molasses would work?

OK, here’s another crazy QUEST from Japan 😁 I am only working from the automatic translation but it seems that @netadi is making an app that gamifies the Symbol trading charts. The main character will be Crypt Girls’ Symbol-chan designed by @Arma_CB (see below):
@netadi‘s app will use XYM trading stats (e.g. volume, price etc) in the app and apparently sales volume will represent the enemies HP. If sell pressure is high it will damage our heroine but if the buy wall is high then it will trigger Symbol-chan’s special moves. There are boss battles at key price points – I am very much looking forward to seeing the ¥100 boss defeated 😆
