10 Mar Symbol blockchain news update – 10/03/23
Hey guys, sorry for the delay with this week’s news roundup – seems to be a slower than usual news week! Anyway, without further delay, here we go.
Use it or lose it
It never ceases to amaze me that people are wasting their opportunity to earn free money. According to Tresto’s tweet there are around 2 billion(!) XYM locked up on Japanese exchanages at the moment – that’s nearly as much as the pool currently harvesting (~2.4 billion). If you are holding your funds on an exchange long term (which isn’t a great idea) then consider withdrawing them and delegating your harvesting to a node. You will earn a few dollars worth of XYM each time you harvest and over time this mounts up, there is no lockup period either so you’d be crazy not to.
Comic capers
It looks like the Symbol Comic back catalogue is available to view here (although it was timing out when I tried the link). Hopefully it will be fully functional again soon as I love these cartoons – the artwork is exceptional and they are a lot of fun 😊
Incredible art
Talking of artwork, Tresto has posted a series of tweets showing scenes from XYM City. There was some mention of AI in a couple of tweets so I am not sure if these are computer generated or hand made but I am blown away by the quality regardless. It’s cyberpunk magic so go check out all of the posts here.
Nodes galore
Just a reminder, if you own more the 10,000 XEM (and they are vested) then you can spin up a supernode. It will earn you 24 XEM per day which should go some way to covering your node costs whilst helping the network.
NEM node monitoring
And speaking of nodes Orisdorch was offering a NEM node monitoring service to the first 5 node operators that replied to this tweet. I expect that people have already taken him up on this generous offer but perhaps there are still slots available so if it is something that you are interested in then check out this tweet:
Delicious discounts
Ooh, here’s a treat if you are in Tokyo at the moment. Sandwich Factory are offering an exchange rate of 10 JPY to 1 XYM on March 12th so you’re getting more than double your money if you eat there. I think I spotted that Mikun was going and Jag if you are reading and are in Tokyo at the moment (I think you posted that you were going to Japan in March?) then this might be for you!
