12 Jul Tweet update – 12/07/21 🦠🤧⚽️😭

It’s Monday again and I was supposed to be on vacation this week but tested positive for COVID over the weekend so now have to stay home and self-isolate 😭 On the plus side it will give me some time to write some content for the blog, at least if I start feeling a bit better! 😅 Being ill sucks and just to top it off England lost on penalties in the Euro 2020 final last night. As you can see I am feeling sorry for myself today 😆 Let’s hope things go a bit better this week..

NEMLOG

Thanks @bestgoldangel for sending in the translation of this tweet from @AI27982784. Chipmunk has written an article about NEMLOG on his blog nemedia.jp. NEMLOG is huge in the Japanese community and allows users to post articles and receive $XYM as tips from other users if they like the article that you posted.

Chipmunk’s article is of course in Japanese but actually Google Translate does a pretty good job with the English translation so it is definitely worth a read!

Developing Symbol games on Unity

Thanks @eikcimickie for this translation of @toshiya_ma‘s tweet. The original tweet links to an article describing how Unity can be used to develop games that interact with the Symbol blockchain using the REST gateway. The article translates nicely with Google Translate and contains code examples on how to query the Symbol blockchain through Unity code. If you are interested in developing games that could use Symbol then this is definitely an essential read.

School of NEM

Thanks @alediemmee for sending in this translation of a @SchoolofNEM tweet. We are all pretty familiar with the processes of opting in to receive XYM based on your XEM balance at the time of the snapshot. Most of us will have either opted in ourselves and received our XYM or been credited with XYM from exchanges based on wallet holdings at the snapshot time. However.. if you had more than 100 XEM in your wallet at snapshot time then you can still opt in and receive your XYM if you haven’t done so already. There is information on post launch opt in here.

Get your money off the exchanges and harvest!

This was sent in by @SamiurR76186237 and is a translation of a @TrendStream tweet. I think that the message here is that trying to get people with XYM sitting idle on exchanges to withdraw and start harvesting is not an easy task and even the lure of harvesting is not enough.

In my opinion part of the problem is that people just don’t know enough about XYM (they just received it for holding XEM at snapshot) so they don’t realise that they could be earning from harvesting. If you are reading this and do have > 10K XYM sitting on an exchange then download the Symbol wallet, set up a new address, send your exchange XYM to your wallet and then activate harvesting. It’s free money!

Pulling out “people who have more than 10,000 XYM deposited in the exchange" is would be a very difficult mission. There is a barrier that cannot be overcome doing that attract them by harvesting alone, I think.#Symbol $XYM https://t.co/oCbrq3F1tU
