29 Nov Symbol blockchain news update – 29/11/21
Whew, Life has been really busy recently so apologies for the lack of posts over the last couple of days. Have been taking on too much and feel pretty exhausted, just hanging on for the Christmas break and then it will be time to relax. Anyway, I probably have some catching up in today’s Symbol Blog update so I better get started!
Harlock II – tomorrow’s the day
It’s a big day for NEM tomorrow as we will find out if the second Harlock fork is successful. The stats look good so barring any last minute disasters Harlock should be home and dry, we will know for sure in less than 24 hours now. Looking forward to some good news and a new future for NEM.
Once again our friends at Binance are supporting the fork which is great to see 😊
Bybit XEM listing
More good news for NEM. Bybit listed XEM this morning! About time if you ask me! 😆
Symbol mugs
Hehe, for a bit of fun I thought I would print my own Symbol related mugs, we needed a few new ones (got to keep myself caffeinated at the moment) so why not? 😁 Apologies for the badly lit photo, That’s the kind of lighting that you get in the early afternoon in the UK at the end of November! I need to get my own avatar, then I will go print crazy! 😂
NFT-Drive
I loved this! 😍 Looks like @tsubasa_yozawa has uploaded his son’s artwork onto the Symbol blockchain using NFT-Drive. This is an awesome idea! I need to start doing this – we are about three paintings deep on our fridge at the moment and are running out of space everywhere else in the house so maybe digitising my son’s artwork as a permanent record is the way to go! 😁
Community art for the documentation website
Nice work @cryptoD38823222! Really looking forward to seeing the community art on the documentation website menu. Not sure how many submissions there have been but if you want to share your art then reply to Hatchet’s tweet! We want to make this page look great and showcase the community’s talent!
A busy December
Hatchet I know exactly how you feel! I had a similar experience, hence the current manic work schedule. Hope you’re fully recovered and make sure that you don’t overdo it (I probably need to take my own advice here too) 😅
Also totally agree with this tweet:
CONTRIBUTE HOWEVER YOU CAN PEOPLE! 🙏 🦾
Symbol SDK x React
It looks like NEMTUS have released a blog post about using the Symbol SDK with the React framework. It comes with a demo app and sample code and it looks pretty cool. I will let you run Google Translate for a full description as it is not my area of expertise! 😊
Another restaurant accepting Symbol payment
Mikun has helped an Italian restaurant implement Symbol payments – nice! I am a huge fan of Italian food, making me hungry thinking about it. Anyway, good work Mikun! Great to see even more outlets in Japan accepting XYM! 😊
XYM City is open for business!
Another reminder to get yourselves on the XYMCity Discord server. It is where everything happens in the Symbol-verse. You can keep up with the latest developments, see what is being worked on, discuss ideas and meet new people. If you’re not already a resident of XYM City then go check it out!
And if you want to own some of Angel (and Klim’s?) artwork seen above then go check out their OpenSea page:
Thanks
OK, that’s today’s post done and I think I am mostly caught up with what happened over the weekend. Hopefully I will manage to keep my head above water this week and will have some regular posts. Thanks for reading and if you have any news or want to contribute then just get in touch!
If you are a regular reader then please consider delegating to my node xymharvesting.net – I appreciate your support 😊
I’m a Symbol and NEM enthusiast and run this blog to try to grow awareness of the platform in the English-speaking world. If you have any Symbol news you would like me to report on or you have an article that you would like to publish then please let me know!
