26 Jul Symbol blockchain news update – 26/07/22
Good morning world! Hope that you are well! I’m back with another update and it looks like I have quite a few stories to get through today so I will get straight on with it!
The future is bright
Hatchet seems to be popping up more regularly on Twitter at the moment, always good to see the captain rallying her followers! I really like the sentiment in this tweet too which I think was posted during her visit to Bermuda.
It seems that the visit went exceptionally well and Hatchet will be sharing tales from her travels with the pirates soon. Exciting! I guess this will be hush-hush for now but obviously, I will share any news if and when I get the green light to in the future 😁
Tsunagi SDK
XEMbook is has released an alpha version of the “Tsunagi SDK” which according to the tweet translation supports Javascript and Python. He is aiming to create a set of SDKs that can create all Symbol transactions in 10(!) different programming languages. XEMbook, awesome work as always! 🙏
Community website
It looks like the Japanese community is coming together to create a Symbol website. According to this tweet, it appears that it will be a community effort and that contributors will receive rewards based on their level of contribution using a DAO-like structure. I am not sure what information the website will contain but it will be in Japanese, I hope that there will be an English translation in the future too! 😁
I guess that the official NEM and Symbol websites are still on hold at the moment, maybe this is something I can see if I can pick up and write some content for in the future 🤔
Share your recipes
When I first heard about @FoodNFT_io I wasn’t sure what to make of it 😄 However, it looks like they are offering the opportunity to record your family recipes as NFTs on the Symbol blockchain. Apparently, they will then distribute and license them to the world which could, in turn, earn you some money!
If you have a signature dish that you would like to share with the world then this could be your opportunity. I have been perfecting my chilli recipe since my student days, maybe it’s time I unleashed it on the world! 😁
EDIT: Just realised that the information session hasn’t already happened – it is on 23rd August 2022 (I misread the date in my rush to write today’s post!), it will however be held in Japanese which counts me out.

The wolf slayers 🐺
Here’s a fun incentive from mikun to boost our collective Twitter activity using the #Symbol hashtag. I will start with some background before I dive in with the details though.
The Symbol Tools Symbol Node List page allows you to sort nodes (or node owners) by the number of likes that they have received for tweets posted using the Symbol hashtag (I think over the previous 7 days?). Anyway, Tresto has topped this list continuously since his Twitter return and so mikun has offered a prize of 1000 XYM (now increased to 1,600 XYM with additional community contributions) for anyone that can knock him off the top spot. This is no easy task believe me! At the time of writing @faunsu19000 is in second position but only has 424 likes to Tresto’s 1,313. Good luck guys – you will need it! 😁
Symbol payment
Look at this feast! All paid for using XYM! 😋 It looks like this was bought at @rasfriet in Arakawa, Tokyo – looks amazing! I really hope that the Symbol conference will go ahead next year. I am looking forward to spending some XYM here and at some of the other venues in and around Tokyo. I think Radio has offered to take me out on the town (maybe we can get a group together!) – I am a little worried he will drink me under the table though 😂
Competition time!
COMSA is giving away a total of 77,777 CMS:XYM tokens in a promotion running from yesterday (25th July) up until 31st August. The prize will be split between 10 lucky winners submitting and buying summer-themed NFTs on the platform. Well, I don’t think that Hatchet probably had a lot of time to hit the beach in Bermuda or Miami but I do love this illustration from @KisekinoF! It put a smile on my face this morning 😁

OK, that’s it for today. Back to work for me, still ticking off the to-do list but the end is in sight. In 8 weeks I will be a pirate – nervous but very excited about it. Just can’t wait to start now 😁
