22 Nov Symbol blockchain news update – 22/11/21

Hope you all had a good weekend! I haven’t really been online much over the last couple of days and it feels weird coming back to the blog as I have not kept up with what was going on. I did notice that the value of my XYM holdings had gone up by a fair few percent so I knew something must have happened over the last 24 hours 😆 Anyway, after a quick browse of Twitter I am a bit better informed and here’s today’s update!

New exchange listing!

The big news of today, Symbol is getting listed on Bybit tomorrow!

To be honest I had never used or heard of the exchange before but it looks like it has some serious volume and is currently ranked as the 15th largest exchange on Coinmarketcap so I guess this is big news for Symbol! 😃

I think that @tsubasa_yozawa had a hand in making this possible – so thank you! 🙏

Hatchet was hopeful for $0.45 by Christmas.

But we did that today after this news..

So she has revised the target upwards 😁

I am sure other big exchanges will follow suit and list XYM soon, my price ambitions are a lot higher than ¥100 though. My eyes are on another 10x+ from here and never having to work again (I can dream). Even if I do sell some at that point (it will be my wife’s decision I am sure 😂) I will continue to run a node and write the blog so I won’t be going anywhere 🙂

Calling all Pythonisatas

I have have to check this out in more detail. I wouldn’t say that I was fluent in Python by any means but there look to be some very interesting tools here that I would love to have a play around with. If you are more technically minded than I am and you know what you’re doing then go have a look and start using them in your own projects.

Also the forkwatch website has now been updated so all eyes will be on this when the new NEM client release is available and the fork countdown begins. I will be watching Twitter closely for further news on this.

The scammer returns

Boo.. All was quiet on the scammer front for a while but it looks like he (or she) is back and up to their old tricks. We have reported on this many times before but be careful, don’t sign any random transactions that turn up in your wallet. If someone asks you to sign a transaction to enable delegated harvesting then it is a scam – don’t do it. You set up harvesting through the “harvesting” section of your Symbol wallet. No funds are ever transferred anywhere else so you always have control of all of your XYM.

This looks pretty awesome but to be honest I think I am too geeky to pull the jacket off 🤓 Maybe the shirt would be OK though. Anyway, I love the design for the Syndicate logo, if you received an official letter with this letterhead then you would probably think twice before messing with us 😂

Future visions

This is a trademark long Hatchet thread (or thread of threads?) I don’t even know where it starts and ends and so I am not going to try to summarise it here 😅. Hatchet, you have a login to the blog if you want to post anything – hint hint 😁

So I think this tweet is related in that it talks of a mosaic marketplace and may be the place to start?

I have probably missed other subthreads and relevant information here so go read though. I am going to have to go back and read them a few more times, look up some stuff I don’t understand and try to get my head around it all 🤯 I feel like there are some seriously ambitious and impressive plans in the pipeline and if we can pull them off then it is going to be something quite special. Rome wasn’t built in a day though and these are longer term goals. I am very excited though…

And I love to see that the core devs are enjoying themselves – that’s what makes things happen 😊

Thanks, as always, for reading, I probably missed a lot over the weekend and I am on a very tight schedule today so didn’t get much time to do my research. Hopefully I will get some time to get back up to speed before my next post and I will be back soon with another update!
