22 Aug Symbol blockchain news update – 22/08/21 (QUEST Sunday)

Hi guys, I am slowly recovering from last night’s celebrations, I do like a good wedding but man I struggle with the morning’s after nowadays. Doesn’t help with a 1 year old waking you up super early either 😅

So as a result of a late night last night we have a very late Symbol Blog update today!

Noble QUESTs

As Twitter is a little light on stories today (it is Sunday after all) I thought I would have a look through current quests on the QUEST website. I have boosted all of these but have a look at the site for yourself as there are many other cool projects listed 🙂

I think maybe I will continue this feature and start a QUEST Sunday feature from now on. I am not listing these in any particular order and I just happened to pick 5 as a nice round number but I could have listed many more here.

NFT-Drive beta

There is now a QUEST for the NFT-Drive beta testing project from @EUFjZEyIuzS9rIi – here is the English translation. If you want to know more about it then please read our recent article!

Node kickback tool

Here is a cool quest from @nobu_kyutech. He is writing a tool which will be able to automatically calculate and reimburse harvesters if the node owners set a percentage rebate of their node beneficiary fee. I was surprised that nobody had published something like this already and was actually thinking of creating something similar myself a couple of months ago. I am sure that this will be better than anything I would have coded up though 😆

Symbol Minecraft tomatina

Here is something I have mentioned several times in the past but I have included here. @nabe387690473 has integrated Symbol tomatina into Minecraft and will be hosting a server so that you guys can have some fun throwing tomatoes 😄 Here is his quest so if you like the idea then have a look!

ReQUEST

This is the hot feature that I think everyone would like to see added to QUEST and the developers (@QUESTofficial5) are already on it! When implemented it will allow users to request performances. For example, if someone would like me to write an article on a specific topic then they could request it and I would have the opportunity to accept or decline the challenge. I think this will really add to the appeal of QUEST. If you would like to boost ReQUEST then you can do so here.

Cycle for Symbol

Here’s a completely different kind of QUEST that I thought was kind of cool 😁 @4taka1013 is proposing to embark on a 1,100km bike ride around the island of Kyushu. What makes this special is that he will cycle the whole way in a Symbol t-shirt (I assume that he will have a change of t-shirt cycling can get quite sweaty!) 😆

Anyway, I liked this kind of unconventional marketing and so chipped with a small boost – good luck!

XYM price WordPress plugin

I caught this tweet from @ounziw as he has recently published a WordPress plugin to display XYM price. This is a WordPress blog so I think maybe I will check it out 😊 Also makes me wonder whether we can integrate some Symbol functionality into WordPress, maybe this requires some further thought 🤔
