17 Sep Symbol blockchain news update 18/09/21

Never a dull day in Symbol land is there? 😁 It feels like a bit of a soap opera some days with various degrees of drama and intrigue. We had the shocking installment of the finality stall, the heroic efforts of the devs to fix it and in today’s episode we see the return of a familiar face and it’s great to have them back 🥰

I am sure you have all seen this post by now but finally @NEMofficial is back and posting! Really glad there is an official source of information again – I will still be posting my unofficial news though, sorry guys, you won’t get rid of me that easily! 😁

This should extend Symbol’s social reach significantly. Symbol Blog tried to fill in a bit but we are pretty pathetic in terms of followers 😆

For those of you wondering why the account had gone quiet, it seems that it was owned by a private individual presumably someone that was involved in NEM team of old? Anyway, they did the honourable thing and it is now under the control of the official team.

Seems there is now more discussion to be had about whether this account should be focussed on NEM, Symbol or both. Cue strong opinions and lack of consensus in the community. Remember the branding discussion? I am staying out of this one for fear of offending a portion of my readers (but I really want to go off on a rant here and tell you what I think) 😁

The logo saga continues..

So I stared at this for a good two minutes trying to work out what the difference between the two images was. In the end I worked out that the Symbol logo is shaded on the right hand side in the right image and not in the left. I got a strange sense of satisfaction once I worked it out 😆

I kind of prefer the left image but will this be the final logo design? I don’t know. It is like when I take my dad out for dinner and he takes forever to decide what to order and then changes his mind at the last second; or those shows where there is an incredibly long pause before they announce the winner. I have the same uptight feeling of wanting a final decision 😬 Please reveal the official logo design and put me out of my misery! 😁

Sure there will be some more juicy episodes coming up soon, there are certainly some big storylines bubbling along in the background. Will the NEM Trust negotiations be resolved? When will the big website rollout happen? Will I get my mystery article? Watch this space as we will certainly be reporting on it 😊
