Half way through the working week already! I have a backlog of things to do so this will be a short post and I better get on with it!

Time to get hacking

I reported on this a few times before but the NEMTUS Hackathon is open for registration and looking for more entrants. Apparently 13 people have signed up so far and it would be great to see some more entries so if you have an idea then please check out the website. Google Translate should get you through if you can’t read Japanese and I am sure that the organisers would be happy to help with queries so don’t be shy, have a go!

NFT-Drive auction

It looks like there will be another NFT-Drive auction and bidding will open today (11th January) at 18:00 JST. Actually that is 09:00 UTC so it is already active!

Ah, I have found the bidding thread and at time of writing it is already at 15,000 XYM! 👀

Bidding closes on Saturday 15th at 22:00 JST.

Community help needed!

Hatchet needs some research doing and is calling on the community to help. If you can make a list of all exchanges that do not currently list either XEM or XYM (vs a BTC reference) then let Hatchet know.

I thought this would be an easy task but actually getting the BTC reference is not straightforward. I had a go last night (admittedly it was a 10 minute job) but the results didn’t look right since I was obviously not getting all of the exchanges listing BTC.

Goodbye space wizard 😢

As you may have heard the wizard of docs @sigsegvx will be leaving us to start a new adventure. Just wanted to say good luck and you will be missed! Hopefully we will still see you around in XYM City!

Symnity

This looks cool! I think it is still under development but @toshiya_ma has published his code for integrating Symbol into Unity on GitHub. If you would like to learn more or use it to start making your own Symbol games then you can check out the repository here. Nice! 😎

Nodes on the go

@ahikicoin‘s Symbol Node List has gone mobile! It was already available for Android but there is now an iOS app so I can finally use it! You just enter your Symbol address and it will notify you of harvests and will show you stats for the node that you are harvesting on. If you are a node owner or a harvester then this is a must have app so go download it!

“Monorepo”

This is the first time I have ever written “monorepo” and it sounds like a sci-fi movie title 😁 It means that all of the Symbol git repositories have now come together in a single place. Makes sense right?

Apologies for the title, the Beatles song came into my head and I went with it. This is an interesting idea. Hatchet has created a “life” token. This breaks the remainder of her days into 1 minute units (assuming an 80 year life expectancy).

You can buy a fraction of her life and she is offering a discount on the first hour! 😁

This is essentially what we all do already if you have a day job or consultancy. We are selling our time to perform tasks. This formalises the process and is a really interesting concept. Maybe get your Hatchet life tokens whilst they are affordable, if her rate goes up then you’ll have to pay more in the future!

I have to say I am very tempted by the introductory offer but unfortunately I don’t think 60 minutes is enough time to write a blog post 😔
