07 Jul Symbol blockchain news update – 07/07/23

Happy Friday everyone! Hope that the sun is shining where you are (for once it is here too!) ☀️ Trying to keep a positive intro before I get to the first two stories that made me feel a bit sad.

First of all, I want to say get well soon to CryptoBeliever. Thank you for all the help you have given me, the team and the wider community – you really do seem to know everything about NEM and Symbol and I’ve lost my number one person to go and ask questions to 😁. I am glad that you will still be around in the community and I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you’ll be back with the crew very soon! 😊

The end of an era

This is sad to see. It looks like both NEMLOG and Arcana will be discontinued on September 5th (the 5th anniversary of NEMLOG) 😢 I know that it was hugely popular in Japan and I am sure that the site will be missed. Thanks, Shu for creating such great apps and hope that you will be sticking around in the Symbol world in the future.

Tomatina is coming!

It’s that time of year (already!) summer is upon us and a new Tomatina event is in the pipeline! The event will take place on the 30th of August so stock up on tomato mosaics and get ready to throw! 😁

Visualisations

I decided to do a little show and tell this week too. I have been learning JavaScript and creating web-based analytics and visualisation tools. This is the first look at an in-progress tool for visualising Symbol transactions between accounts. You can add multiple accounts and it will pull all transactions and make the links between them. I have a few additional ideas so I will implement these next week and then continue working on some other tools that hopefully I will be able to share soon 😊

Travels in Japan

It looks like Hatchet is having fun on her travels and visiting many of the venues accepting Symbol payment. It’s great to see that the community is all getting involved and I am sure that the meetups have been fun! Hopefully I will get to meet some of you guys at the Symbol conference later in the year! 😁

Oh and if you are in Osaka then let Hatchet know 😊 I had an excellent meal in Dotonbori so if you want a restaurant recommendation then let me know 😁
