02 Aug Symbol blockchain news update โ 02/08/22
Hi everyone ๐ It’s been a difficult 7 days for me so I haven’t been keeping up with Symbol news so much – apologies if I missed anything in today’s update. I thought I should write something this morning as it’ll keep me busy for a little while and temporarily take me out of the funk that I am in ๐
New Symbol game
I saw this yesterday and gave it a couple of quick plays. It’s a really cool Wipeout-like game that transported me back to the 90s and it is built on Symbol! I am not sure what mikun is doing to get such a quick time, I must be playing it wrong as getting round without crashing and hitting all of the turbo boost things I am still way off his high score.
Anyway, congrats on your driving skills mikun and congrats to @feiton81118 for making such a great game! What are these left and right tamashii things? I didn’t have these and my stats were rubbish. I think that there is something I am missing somewhere. I need to give this another look ๐
The game was made in Unity using @toshiya_ma‘s Symnity package which allows Unity to interact with Symbol. It looks like Safely Sign Symbol (SSS) is also integrated into the game. I really need to start experimenting with this as I don’t know a lot about it. I will add it to my to-do list ๐
There is such a thing as a free lunch!
I am not sure about the full story here but I do know that Sandwich Factory (@sandwichf1) have distributed 33 delicious-looking lunch boxes to local children. What a great thing to do! It looks like mikun and nembear were involved so well done to all of you. It’s heartwarming to see such kindness and generosity in the community โค๏ธ

I think that this is was masterminded by @nononon – great work! I will be looking out for these signs on my travels next time I am in Japan (hopefully next year!).
SSS update
There has been another update to the Safely Sign Symbol Google Chrome extension – you can download the latest release here. I’ve also just found the documentation! Should be able to work it out with Google Translate and/or DeepL so I should really write an article about this in the near future!
A disappointing story
So, I was feeling pretty down already this morning and looking at Twitter didn’t help. As I remember it (and I was never a CM or involved in any capacity with NGL) @bestgoldangel and others bought this medal for @OliverMuldoon to thank him for his support and guidance before he left the project. I am not sure what the point of this post is, but to me it comes across as a slap in the face for those who respected him enough to part with their own cash to buy this as a gift.
I have never had any beef with Oliver in the past and in fact, it was him that encouraged me to start this blog. Having intently followed all of the community-led projects, incentives and creativity over the past 14 months I can safely say although we are small, we are probably one of the most constructive, creative and driven crypto communities out there. Thanks (mainly to Hatchet) the moonies have been driven out, the corruption of previous management is gone and we all have a shared goal and vision for the future. I would say we are doing just fine thank you very much.
I don’t know what happened during the NGL days but Jag and Leon have tried to set the story straight in these threads so give them a read.
