Latest Symbol tweet updates 30/06/21

Here we go with another update of interesting Symbol/NEM related tweets picked out and translated by our awesome community members!

Check out those NIPs! 👀

Sorry, I couldn’t resist the childish pun 😂. @GeranKlim picked up on this post by @xembook which encourages community members to look at the NEM2 (aka Symbol) Improvement Proposals or NIPs hosted on GitHub.

What are NIPs? Well the name says it all really. If you have any suggestions for improvements or cool new features that you would like to see added to Symbol then this is the place to proposed them. Suggesting a NIP doesn’t automatically mean that it will be included in future Symbol releases but it is there to enable you to contribute ideas and to facilitate discussion with other community members and with the core developers.

If you are thinking of proposing a NIP then make sure that you read the documentation first and adhere to the standards for proposal submission. You could be sitting on a killer idea so share it with those that can make it happen!

See what NIPs have been put forward so far

As you can see there have been several proposals put forward already so go check them out!

Tipping with XYM

Thanks @SamiurR76186237 for this translation and to the wonderful @XEMbook for the original post.

This is really cool tool, it allows you to input some simple parameters (to/from address, mosaic ID and amount) and it will generate a QR code for the transaction. You can see it in practice with pre-filled parameters here. It should be super easy to integrate into a website with a nice UI allowing the user to input the parameters – great work! Hopefully we will all be tipping each other soon..

NEMHub rewards!

Good spot @Niashabid17 – a reminder to all community members that there are tasks waiting for you on NEMHub – if you are feeling brave then help out by making a video!

Other news

@DjCellBlock, @tolga_celik and @Hexagon_tr thanks for the heads up but we found this one yesterday! Great to see that it is getting coverage in multiple languages though 😊

If you missed it you can read out blog post about this excellent resource showing businesses that accept XEM and Symbol payments!

@Niashabid17 this looks like big news! Love to see some coverage of Symbol and see that some big influencers are Symbol holders – this guy obviously has impeccable taste in crypto! 😁 Looks like he has done well from it too! Wen lambo??

Once again, thanks for reading today’s update. Make sure to follow @blog_symbol on Twitter (you can also follow me too!).

I'm a Symbol and NEM enthusiast and run this blog to try to grow awareness of the platform in the English-speaking world. If you have any Symbol news you would like me to report on or you have an article that you would like to publish then please let me know!

Great job! This is really what Symbol needs. $XYM awareness outside Japan. I will check your blog for regular updates. Especially English spoken YouTube video’s are scarce.
