Latest tweets from Japan – 28/06/21

By XHarvesting

There are tons of stories and interesting tweets coming from our Japanese community. Some of these we can write up into a longer blog post but it is just as important to get information, news and views from our most active community out to the English speaking world. We will try to do a regular roundup of some of these tweets including translations and post them to the blog. Here are some of the tweets that have caught our eye today!

News

This NFT news deserved its own blog post. The super talented Maho has created NFT interpretations of traditional Japanese Hanafuda cards which are on sale at nember.art

We also have some exciting news from XEMbookxembook-core.js is nearing completion and aims to accelerate browser app development. Take a look at their GitHub page! It would be super cool to get some English translations of the documentation if there are any volunteers out there!

Opinions

Personally I agree with this tweet from @TrendStream. In my opinion Symbol definitely should be the priority and we really should be shouting from the rooftops about it (well we already are on Symbol Blog!). NIS1 will always have a place in the communities heart and I am sure that it will continue to be developed on.

Another important tweet. It is critical to understand that Symbol is the new chain from NEM. AS @TrendStream explains Catapult, the next generation core server was previously going to be integrated into NEM / XEM (aka NIS1) but was instead used in Symbol / XYM. I know that many people are still not clear that Symbol is the latest and greatest blockchain created in the NEM ecosystem.

A very brief tweet from @h_gocchi but it is an important point. We should be aiming for better and creating NFTs that are interoperable between multiple blockchains as this would add to the appeal of the technology. I guess having NFTs on a variety of different platforms/wallets doesn’t really help owners. Being able to move NFTs between chains would be a huge benefit. Is Symbol the answer?
