Twitter and specifically Hatchet have been on fire whilst I was sleeping so I thought that rather than do the usual daily roundup I would write about my excitement about the future, thank everyone for their hard work, give a rallying cry out to the community and share some views on the recent changes that have been happening.

Damn, I have already used as a reference in a previous post but I like the song and I think it fits this article better 😁. Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan wrote “The times they are a-changin'” nearly 60 years ago (well before my time) and to me this song represents a movement, a cause, hope for the future and the sense of being part of a group of people that dare to do different *. I think that this is particularly true of NEM and Symbol at this point in their history. You will have noticed that there has been a huge change for the better since NGL was shut down but the some faces have not gone quietly, the Trust are still holding the developers hostage over funds and there is a dark cloud hanging over the reputation of some of the characters of old..
There is a silver lining though, next week the phoenix will rise and the developers will need our help more than ever to make Symbol a success.
* Of course this generation turned out to be the boomers but hey the sentiment was good. It’s up to us to practice what they preached.

I would like to give out a shout out to @UcchinCrypto here, I know that writing a blog and fitting it in with other commitments is hard work! Sometimes it is difficult to get motivated after a hard day or to find enough content to put together into a post, but we do it and we do it for our belief in Symbol. There are also too many of you for me to name that are hugely active on Twitter, sharing news and opinions, spreading the word and rallying the community for the sake of our shared cause. Thank you all.

You know my opinion on who should be responsible of the NEM and Symbol funds – the core developers. Not the Trust, especially since we have no idea what they have spent this money on. The new era of NEM and Symbol will embrace transparency in all areas, including with their finances.
Why do I trust the developers over the Trustees? Well NEM and Symbol are their babies, their brainchild, their passion and their work for many years. They have built it for us, the community and for that we will always be grateful.
Since joining Gimre and Jag, Hatchet has breathed a new lease of life into the project, given it an identity and personality, a purpose and grand ambitions. Undoubtedly she will have ruffled a few feathers with the faces of old but we needed someone to do this and we were lucky enough to find the right woman for the job 😁
And to the Pirates who are working on making making these new ideas a reality through design, engineering and a lot of hard work – we salute you.
Your old road is rapidly ageing. Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend a hand.

Community matters. A strong united community will lead to Symbol and NEM being noticed, we will attract new talent, grow the ecosystem, increase utility and in turn this should (hopefully) increase the value of your holdings. Contribute now and you will reap the rewards in the future. It doesn’t matter if you are a developer, an artist, a writer, a data analyst, active on Twitter, can post a good meme – you can all help! I know it takes time and effort but you get a sense of satisfaction knowing that you are doing something worthwhile for the cause – it is worth it I promise 😁

They really are changing (finally!). This is an incredibly strong statement from Hatchet and I agree and believe in this sentiment. There really are a world of possibilities out there and you can be part of this. Get excited, get motivated and fight for our future. We could be at the beginning of something very big, dare to dream and if we work hard enough as a community we can make it happen.

I wanted to concentrate on this one thread today, sorry if it is a bit clichéd and poorly thought out but I do mean every word I wrote. I am excited and you should be too.
