07 Oct Symbol blockchain news update – 07/10/21

Hi everyone! We are back with another Symbol Blog update and I am starting to get excited about the rebrand and relaunch of Symbol which looks like it will be here very soon!

As I mentioned in a tweet earlier today I genuinely have never felt more positive about the future for Symbol and NEM. There is still a way to go but there seems to be a growing buzz and sense of anticipation around the projects that I have rarely seen in the past. There may be some tough times ahead and there is still the black cloud of the Trust in the picture but the future is definitely bright for us ☀️😎

Get ready..

The best news always seems to be announced whilst I am sleeping but it was a nice surprise to wake up and see this tweet from @NEMofficial (now called “Symbol & NEM”). It looks like the rebrand and the new website will be completed very soon and if this is anything to go by it will look awesome 😊 I am really happy with the look, feel and direction that the team have gone for and it promotes a sense of fun and excitement rather than the dull, ineffective, corporate image of old. It was about time that we injected some life into Symbol and this has provided the shot in the arm we needed. I have a funny feeling that we will be attracting far more people to the project with this new look and ethos.

The team are also looking good and ready to take on the world..

Mobile wallet update

If you are a mobile wallet user then make sure that you update to the latest version ASAP. There is a block on signing aggregate transactions through the mobile wallet for added security. It is also nice to know that there is a major overhaul of both desktop and mobile wallets releasing soon too. So many things to look forward to!

Another exchange listing

More good news on the exchange front. Symbol will be listed on GMO Coin from October 20^th so if you are a customer then you won’t have long to wait!

The Japanese exchanges are leading the way on listings at the moment, this shows what a strong following Symbol has in Japan. We need to grow Symbol’s reputation in other parts of the world too, although I am very optimistic that this will happen before long.

Symbol fun and games

I love the work that @toshiya_ma is doing! You may remember me writing about the RPG game that he released previously that integrated Symbol and allowed you to store game data such as weapons etc as metadata on your Symbol account.

Looks like this is a work in progress but the game looks really cool already, do love a good platformer 😁 As far as I can tell from the automatic translation the game is progressing well but he is still looking for a fun way to integrate Symbol and is working on ideas for this at the moment. As the game doesn’t look to be reliant on understanding Japanese I can play this one – can’t wait to give it a go! Maybe I should write a review for the blog 😊
