11 Mar Symbol blockchain news update โ 11/03/22
It’s Friday already! Whilst I am waiting for some stuff to run for work I thought I would get in a very quick post as I may not have time to do it over the weekend.
The big day is coming ๐
It’s very nearly Symbol’s birthday! March 17th will mark the 1 year anniversary of its mainnet launch. A lot has happened since then, hasn’t it! I am not sure what the pirate crew or the community have planned to mark the occasion but I will keep you informed if I hear anything. I should imagine there will be a Cluster party in XYM City – I will try to join if there is! ๐
Oh – I just spotted that @toshiya_ma has a birthday event planned! It looks like there will be a special event in The Tower and there will be 10,000 XYM or more up for grabs! Please vote for your preferred timescale for the competition in the poll below! Also, get some practice in before the main event – I promise you it’s a great game ๐
Ah, it also looks like there is an English version too!
On-chain images – on NEM!
It looks like NFT-Drive have been experimenting again and this time they have stored image data on the NEM chain – first of its kind? I think so.. I guess NEM is not so well suited to storing on-chain images due to the lack of aggregate transactions and slower block times but it can be done in the same way as on Symbol by storing data in transaction messages.
The 300KB image was added to the NEM testnet at a cost of 675.65 XEM. You can see the list of transactions to the account here.
Shiny new Radio
Now this is super cool! I love the new look @RadioRa26841511! The pirate crew have done a fantastic job with this avatar and it looks like other community members will be getting an official new look too – check out the designs on Discord!
Over the top Symbol & NEM t-shirts needed
It seems that Hatchet is off to a conference soon and is looking for some new attire. If you have some artistic talent then please design some crazy Symbol and NEM t-shirts for her. Obviously we want her to stand out and be noticed so it has to be attention grabbing! ๐
