23 Nov Symbol blockchain news update – 23/11/21
Welcome to Tuesday’s update! I have been writing in 5 minute bursts in between other things for part of the morning so the Bybit trading news is out of date already but you can catch up with the latest chart in the link in that segment. There isn’t a huge amount of other news doing the rounds on Twitter so will be a relatively short post today.

Hehe, super happy to read this on Discord this morning – thanks Hatchet for letting me know! 😁 I was shocked to find out that Symbol Blog is getting some reads from some of the exchanges now! I doubt it is @cz_binance 😆 but great to see some interest from exchanges wanting to know what is going on in Symbol-land! 😎
I really love to see that it is being read as it is sometimes a lonely process writing these blog posts and not knowing if people like what I am writing!
It really does mean a lot to know that people enjoy what I write – so thank you all!
Bybit trading goes live!
XYM trading opened on Bybit at 10:00 UTC and it looks like trading is a bit volatile at the moment and finding its level somewhere in the mid 40¢ range. EDIT: come back and it is now $0.39 but it’ll find where it wants to be eventually. I am not sure why the site is being served to me in what I think is Spanish(?) but I can understand a chart in any language so that’s fine.
Always great to see another exchange listing and I am sure that there will be many more on the horizon. Eventually the big boys wake up to Symbol.
Just spotted this tweet from Hatchet and I couldn’t agree more.
I am sure that the good news will keep coming over the coming weeks and months so HODL is the only sensible option here. I actually woke up at maybe 3:00 or 4:00am and looked at my phone (always a bad idea). I’d obviously set a notification on an app to tell me when XYM hit $0.50, I think that this was probably back in April! Seems it reached ~$0.54 briefly at its peak last night. Next notification is $1.00 – I wonder how long it will take to reach it. Probably not long. HODL is my only strategy (I learned that lesson when I sold Bitcoin in 2013), it will have to go a lot higher than $1 to tempt me into selling some precious XYM, we have an exciting future ahead 😁

Good to see the team and the project getting some recognition. They deserve it! Once we really get going there will be no stopping us! 🦾
New explorer
So at some point in the early hours of this morning (UTC) I saw that the Symbol explorer had undergone a facelift. Unfortunately it seems to be back to its regular bland self. I guess that we will see the new look make a permanent appearance soon though. It does look much cooler (make sure to be set it to dark mode though!). Fortunately @mikunNEM screenshotted it and so I know I wasn’t dreaming. I would be worried if I was dreaming of the Symbol Explorer 😅
Symbol already did it
Very tenuous reference to a Southpark episode in the title 😬 Great to see that Symbol is leading the way in terms of some of our features, wonder if Ethereum took some inspiration from us for EIP-3074 or if they just realised that these were awesome features later than we did 🤔
There are many more exciting updates on the cards for Symbol in the future (covered in previous posts) so we will continue to innovate and the world will have to take notice.
Late news in – get paid to play games!
If I wasn’t insanely busy and wasn’t a complete introvert that never streams anything on the internet (and is always Mr Single Player – no playing online and interacting with randoms 😬) then I would definitely take Gimre up on this challenge. If you’re a fan of some old school roguelikes then this is your lucky day! You can take Gimre up on his quest here and get paid in XYM for doing it. It looks like he has boosted 500 XYM! Minimum length of play is 10 minutes – easy money guys!
I am likely to add some of these to my “to play list” though as they look like they would be my kind of games. One day I will retire on my XYM income and have time to do fun things..
